The SI-431-SS high-precision infrared temperature sensor uses an optical germanium lens and is based on the principle of non-contact infrared temperature measurement. It can be used to estimate plant moisture status, plant canopy temperature, road surface temperature, and land surface (soil, vegetation, water, snow) temperature in energy balance research.
SI-431-SS consists of a thermopile (used to measure surface temperature) and a thermistor (used to measure the sensor's own temperature), both temperature probes are placed inside an aluminum conduit.
SI-431-SS adopts digital SDI-12 output, 14 ° half angle field of view, and is equipped with M8 standard interface for easy cable replacement and connection to Apogee AT-100 recorder.
